01AUG2018 - NEWS - Spanish ferry operator Baleària to convert five ferries to run on LNG

In the efforts to reduce the pollution from the ships, Spanish ferry operator Baleària is to invest EUR 60 million to retrofit five of its ferries to run on liquefied natural gas. Five ferries including Nápoles, Abel Matutes, Sicilia, Bahama Mama and Martín i Soler are scheduled to undergo the upgrades over the next two years. Baleària which operates passenger ferry services in the Mediterranean and Caribbean was founded during 1998 and the company is headquartered at Dénia, Spain.
