Financial Controller
Dan-Bunkering is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to fill in a role that combines both finance and accounting. You will be reporting to our Managing Director and be working from our office based in Houston, Texas.
This position offers you the opportunity to be a central part of a dynamic and friendly team, working for an expanding global group. You, as our new Financial Controller will work closely with the Group Financial Accounts team in the Danish Headquarter. You can expect around 15 days of travelling yearly.

Main responsibilities:

• Daily payment management - ensuring timely payments and approval of payments
• Ad hoc tasks from Manager, Traders and Group to be addressed timely e.g. expense analysis, customer margin analysis etc.
• Processing of expense invoices
• Monitor accounts and ensure correct reflection of financials in P&L and balance sheet
• Preparation of monthly accounts including deviation analysis
• Coordinating and controlling accounts for the different sub-entities under Dan-Bunkering Americas
• Preparation of external and internal financial statements and liaison with auditors
• Key stakeholder in optimization projects for further improving integration and efficiency of systems in place
• Cash flow and risk exposure management
• Support and assist the account team with day to day operational matters
• Preparation and processing of monthly account reconciliations
• Responsible for payroll administration and finance, including calculation of monthly trader commissions and bonus due
• Preparation of annual budgets for departments in North America
• Preparation of sales tax returns and other relevant reporting to public authorities

Professional skills:

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA with natural flair for numbers)
• Minimum four years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the maritime industry
• Strong skills in accrual based accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Advanced Microsoft skills: Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
• Working knowledge of ERP system Microsoft Dynamics Navision
