Bunker operations at Richards bay eases after Second bunker barge AMBER II starts operations at Richards bay port in South africa. Amber II serves as a floating storage and supply vessel for BP Marine.
Amber II has carrying capacity of 6000Mts and is 105 Metre long. African Marine Solutions (Amsol) handles the logistics and scheduling of the barge. Amsol also handles first barge Smit energy. Amber II remains at outer anchorage and only enters the port when a vessel requires bunkering services. After refuelling a vessel, it returns to outer anchorage. Amber II loads fuel from BP refinery in Durban.
