03DEC2018 - NEWS - Germany based container shipping company MPC Container Ships opts for scrubbers to support new charters

Germany based container shipping company MPC Container Ships has recently exercised options to equip an additional five vessels with scrubbers, having agreed charters for six scrubber-retrofitted vessels. The six charters will be initiated after scrubber retrofitting, and will run through to 2022 at what MPC says are favourable rates. MPC is looking to take advantage of the optionality of its scrubber deal by analysing further retrofits on a vessel by vessel basis, and it is in dialogue with various liner companies on further scrubber-linked employment deals.
