Every year the Angolans celebrated Peace Day on April 4. This holiday celebrates the end of the Angolan Civil War, that continued for almost 30 years.
The Angolan Civil War began in 1975 immediately after Angola gained independence from Portugal. The country had already been weakened by the Angolan War of Independence, that lasted from 1961 to 1974. And the civil war that outbroke, became the fight between two former liberation movements MPLA (People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola) and UNITA (National Union for the Total Independence of Angola), that wanted to come to power.

Celebration of Children's Day annually falls in Taiwan (the Republic of China) on April 4. This holiday was established in 1931. Hong Kong also celebrates this holiday on the same day.
Children's Day was established in 1931 in recognition of the rights of the child. Since then the schools annually organize special events devoted to the holiday. Many parents insisted on taking part in celebration with their children, that is why in 1991 April 4 became a holiday for children and women and now it's known as the combined holiday of Women's Day and Children's Day.
