Department /Job Summary:
As assistant of the Bunker Owner Representative, (part of the Energy Dept.), the Bunker Control & Claims Officer will be in charge of:
- Assisting the BORS in his assigned areas “on board the vessel and on operation premises” to the strict compliance of all CMA CGM bunkering & sludge procedures, protecting the company’s interests during bunkering or sludge operation.
- Assisting the BORS in monitoring, improving, assessing the operational performance of the suppliers, surveyors for bunkering and sludge operations.
The Bunker Control Assistant will mainly be responsible for:
- Assisting the BORS in implementing HO procedures in all bunkering and sludge related operations.
- Assisting the BORS in introducing our procedures to third parties by setting operational meeting and monthly review improvement.
- Assisting the BORS in his daily tasks
Key responsibilities:
Check & report full compliance over all CMA CGM operational procedures for all bunkering and sludge matters (vessel, supplier, barge operator and surveyor)
- Assist the BORS in putting in place the Singapore barge mapping, with regular updates to HO,
- Check & report full compliance of instructions given to third parties in particular independent surveyors mandated by CMA CGM
- Act as the operational link in absence of the BORS between suppliers, vessel command and HO Bunkering Dept.
- Monitor daily bunkering operations, sending bunkering nomination lists, weekly reports, monthly statistics, ROB monitoring to vessels within the area of control
Incumbent specifications:
- Education - Possess tertiary education qualification
- Experience - Minimum 2 years work experience in Liner business
Skills required:
- Knowledge in bunkering industry to handle fuel operational issues, Bunker Quantity Survey, ROB inspections on barge operators and container ships
- Conversant in Microsoft Office applications – PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong Written & Spoken Communications Skill
