Oil major company Chevron dedicated its newest crude oil supertanker as an homage to the city of Houston to start the new year. The new Houston Voyager is a "very large crude carrier" designed to hold 2 million barrels of oil. The tanker is one of seven new vessels being added to modernize Chevron's global shipping fleet for more efficient transportation with fewer emissions. The Houston Voyager will export more U.S. oil, including Texas shale oil, from U.S. ports in Texas and along the Gulf Coast, while also bringing more crude imports to the U.S. from the Middle East.
