Monjasa Americas (Panama) is seeking an Accountant

Job description
As our new Accountant, you will be working in an international environment and be part of a team of highly qualified employees. You will refer to our Finance Manager and carry out a variety of challenging accounting tasks. The job requires you to be very detail-oriented and organised. In addition, you should possess a rock-solid flair for numbers. The work environment in the shipping industry is very dynamic, and it is thus crucial that you are used to working independently under high levels of responsibility, and that you are good at taking initiative. 

Areas of focus

• Inventory accounting
• Obtain approvals and perform processing & posting of all invoices, expense forms and requests
• Maintain balance sheet accounts
• Provide ongoing monitoring of accounts payable and receivable and other receivables
• Monthly reconciliation and maintenance of accounts for further review and reporting
• Monthly reconciliation of physical operations in Americas for further review and reporting
• Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures

The ideal candidate - professional skills

• CPA/CA educated or equivalent expected
• 3-5 years of inventory or accounting experience from an international company
• General IT proficiency is required – experience with Excel and ERP systems is a plus
• English and Spanish
