09JUL2018 - NEWS - Tokyo based classification society grants Approval in Principle to a LNG powered Bulk carrier design

The joint project between NYK Line and Japan Marine United on concept design of an liquified natural gas (LNG) fuelled bulk carrier has been granted Approval in Principle (AIP) by Tokyo based classification society. This design can contribute to the IMO strategy of a 40 percent improvement in the global shipping industry’s fuel efficiency by 2030.
