Azerbaijan - State Flag Day
The Azerbaijani people annually celebrate State Flag Day on November 9. This public holiday was established in 2009 to commemorate the anniversary of adoption of the flag of Azerbaijan in 1918.
The first Azerbaijani flag was adopted on November 9, 1918, shortly after the country gained independence from the Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic. The first flag consisted of a red field, a white crescent and an eight-pointed star in its center. This flag existed for 23 month, before installation of the Azerbaijan SSR by the Soviet Red Army on April 28, 1920.

Pakistan - Allama Iqbal Day
Allama Iqbal Day is one of the public holidays in Pakistan. It's annually celebrated on November 9, that is anniversary of the birthday of a great poet of Muhammad Iqbal.
Muhammad Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 in the Punjab Province of British India (present-day Pakistan). He studied at Government College Lahore and decided to continue his higher education in the West. He studied at Trinity College, University of Cambridge in England, where he obtained Bachelor of Arts and then moved to Germany to study doctorate at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
