10OCT2017 - JOB - Optimisation Manager - Maersk Line

Purpose of the Role:

• Manage x-functional projects and initiatives to increase collaboration between Maersk Line Operations teams using technology
• Liaise with MLIT for situational awareness systems including sparring on new developments as well as engage Maersk Line operations teams globally for optimal usage.
• Faciliate technical engineering support/insight to 24/7 teams onsite as well as Liner Operations Cluster Marine teams

Key Responsibilities

• Energy Efficiency:
• Facilitate technical engineering support/insight to 24/7 teams onsite and act as a liaison into Fleet Optimisation departments.
• Through x-functional projects identify new opportunities for energy savings onboard vessels
• Keep a close link to technical energy efficiency team in Mumbai.
• X-functional projects:
• Ownership of x-functional projects which will lower energy consumption as well as improve cross functional marine processes.
• Exchange learning's, best practice and engage across Maersk Line Operations teams on collaboration and visualization systems and initiatives.
• Bunker Optimisation
• Provide technical support to 24/7 bunker operation.
• MLIT liaison
• Closely liaise with MLIT on optimizing the usage of visualization and collaboration tools provided to Maersk Line Fleet Management & Technology.
• Drive and closely liaise with MLIT and Maersk Line operations teams for new collaboration tools which will enhance corporation, reduce lead time in decision making and visualize relevant live data or performance metrics.
• Communication
• Be a role model for x-functional communication and encourage interaction and simple effective communication.
• Management
• Keep management advised of developments within the area of responsibility.

Who we are looking for

• Graduate of any related Bachelor’s Degree course.
• At least minimum of 1-2 years’ experience being a Second Engineer or Chief Engineer onboard vessels
• Good Communication Skill
• Candidate with “can do’ attitude and with positive mindset
• Project management experience
• Passion for technology
