10SEP2018 - NEWS - Sembcorp Marine receives contract for scrubber retrofits and ballast water management systems from Greek shipping company Maran Tankers

Sembcorp Marine has recently received a contract for 13 scrubber retrofits and four ballast water management systems from Greek shipping company Maran Tankers. Initially, Sembcorp Marine will install marine scrubbers and ballast water management systems on four suezmax tankers. The commencement of fittings will begin in the third quarter of this year and delivered through the fourth quarter of next year. The company will start installing the remaining nine very large crude carriers (VLCC) with marine scrubbers in May next year. All retrofits are expected to be complete by February 2020. For the installation, Maran Tankers will send the vessels to Sembcorp Marine’s Tuas Boulevard and Admiralty Yards.
