Canada's Pembina Pipeline Corporation has recently signed non-binding agreements to sell more liquefied natural gas than will be produced at its Jordan Cove liquefaction/export facility in Oregon. The company has signed agreements for 11 million tons a year from the proposed facility, while its designed production capacity is 7.5 million tons. Pembina is still seeking approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the Jordan Cove facility at Coos Bay, Oregon, and related pipelines. Canadian natural gas producers are interested in exporting gas to Jordan Cove in order to get higher prices.
