The job
Reporting to the Head of Chartering East, VP in the Tanker Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing bunker fuel for vessels employed by TORM worldwide. This is done in cooperation with an efficient team of three employees, which you will lead.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment, often handling several deals and tasks at once, and you will be expected to profitably use your market knowledge, both in terms of supporting the team and completing operational tasks yourself.
An important part of the job is to make sure that all the parameters have been considered in the negotiation process and to analyze market data both for optimization and benchmarking purposes.
With a fleet of approximately 80 vessels and 9 more vessels on order, TORM is adapting a multifaceted strategy for compliance with the 2020 Sulphur regulatory changes including scrubbers on newbuildings, retrofit, usage of ULSFO/VLSO and distillates.
Responsibilities include
- Leading, motivating and guiding your team to become a Reference Company Bunker Purchase department
- Assist the Senior Management Team in continuous developing and optimizing TORM’s IMO2020 compliance strategy
- Planning and execution of strategy, business plans, budgets and all leadership duties in the Bunker department
- Optimization of TCE results through optimization of the total cost of bunkering
- Development and contract management of any bunker purchase contracts
- Handling possible bunker disputes and claims and pursuing new business opportunities in the bunker market
- Coordination of all matters with the Technical Division and Tanker Operations in connection with bunker purchase and bunker delivery

- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably as a bunker or fuel buyer, broker or trader within the shipping industry with stakeholder management proficiency

- Strong communication skills; fluent in English
