15DEC2017 - NEWS - WTI and Brent Settled Higher on Thursday

Due to an emergency shutdown of UK North Sea's most important network of oil, the oil prices rose on Thursday. On 14th Dec 2017 WTI reached $57.04 up 0.44 points as compared to $56.60 value on 13th Dec 2017. Brent crude also touched to a level of $63.31 on 14th Dec 2017 up 0.87 points as compared to $62.44 level on 13th Dec 2017. Both the Brent crude futures and the U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures settled up 1.4 percent and 0.8 percent respectively.

Both Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) serves as a benchmark price for purchases of oil worldwide.
