Dan-Bunkering is one of the leading companies in the bunker trading industry with worldwide representation, specializing in sale, purchase and supply of marine fuel oil on global scale. We are in the process of preparing our ambitious growth strategy, and in this context, we are looking for a determined sourcing professional with good analytical and communicative skills.  

Job purpose and role
As Dan-Bunkering’s new Sourcer your responsibilities will be daily purchasing, sourcing of marine fuel, following up on deliveries, confirmations, cost and quality. You will be working in an international organization supported by your primary departmental colleagues in our brand sourcing center based in Stamford, CT.  Your cooperation with the internal organization, suppliers and subcontractors will be of great importance in your successful performance with focus on quality, on time deliveries and optimization of costs. More specifically your tasks include:

• Handling of day-to-day supply chain activities such as back to back purchasing from physical market
• Optimizing and handling the supplier portfolio and ensuring the needed capacity in relation to future demands 
• Involvement in trading derivatives/hedging techniques
• Assisting customers on long term contract inquiries
• Supporting implementation of purchasing strategy
• Supplier and product screening 
• Ensuring persistent data and KPI follow-up  
• Claims handling and post fixing follow-up
• Stakeholder management

Job specific skills and personal competencies
The ideal candidate has relevant sourcing experience from previous employment, technical insight in bunkering, negotiation skills and project management capabilities. We expect you to have at least 3 years of experience from a similar position preferably from the oil & gas industry. Furthermore, you have:

• A commercial approach to procurement and relevant purchasing qualification
• Excellent influencing skills and strong analytical skills
• Proven understanding of procurement methodologies
• Demonstrable “hands on” problem solving abilities in multi-cultural and dynamic environments
• Several years of experience of using the Microsoft Office-package 

As a person you are result-oriented, structured and a proactive individual who is comfortable operating at all levels to solve issues. You are a self-starter who operates effectively with minimum supervision and a positive attitude. In addition, you can analyze market and price development.
