18JUL2019 - NEWS - PORT OF AMSTERDAM BECOMES PARTNER IN HYDROGEN MARINE FUEL PROJECT

The project, H2Ships, will seek to determine the essential conditions for a successful market for the introduction of hydrogen as a marine fuel.A blueprint is being developed for a transport and distribution system including bunkering in sea and inland ports in North-West Europe for green hydrogen as part of the project.As part of the pilot, Port of Amsterdam's new management vessel, De Havenbeheer, will be sailing on hydrogen in the form of sodium borohydride, a solid form for hydrogen. De Havenbeheer is a vessel that is used to show potential customers or dignitaries the port and the city. The vessel will be developed in the coming year.
