18OCT2019 - NEWS - MEE starts IMO-compliant fuel sales at Fujairah

Fujairah-based bunkering firm Mediterranean Eastern Enterprise (MEE) has started supplying IMO 2020 compliant marine fuels.

MEE sold a first cargo of 0.5pc sulphur bunker fuel.

The volume and date of delivery was unconfirmed. MME's product has a viscosity of around 120cst and sulphur content of just below 0.5pc.

Demand for IMO-compliant fuel is on the rise ahead of the 1 January imposition of rules that prohibit use of high-sulphur fuel unless a vessel has exhaust scrubber equipment fitted.
