[UTC] 19NOV2018 - NEWS - Finland based ship building company Meyer Turku starts construction of a new cruise ship for Carnival Cruise Line

Finland based ship building company Meyer Turku has recently started the construction of a new 180,000t vessel for Carnival Cruise Line. The new XL class cruise ship will be the first vessel of its kind to operate on liquified natural gas (LNG) in North America. The 1,130ft-long ship will feature a red, white and blue hull design developed by US-based Bluarch Architecture. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled to take place in 2020. Carnival is yet to name the ship, which is set to operate from Port Canaveral, Florida, US, beginning in 2020.
