21DEC2017 - NEWS - Canadian Shipping firm takes delivery of Dual Fuel Ice Class Tanker

Recently a Canadian Shipping firm, Desgagnés has taken delivery of nations first dual-fuel oil/product and chemical tanker ( M/T Mia Desgagnes ). Globally Mia Desgagnes is the first dual-fuel/LNG product/chemical tanker in service holding a Polar 7 ice class.

Polar Class (PC) may be defined as the ice class assigned to a ship by a classification society. PC 7 refers to classification suitable for Summer/autumn operation in thin first-year ice which may include old ice inclusions.

Founded in 19th Century, Groupe Desgagnés is based in Québec, Canada.
