21FEB2018 - JOB - Senior Bunker Trader - Singapore

OceanConnect Marine Trading Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Bunker Trader to be based in its Singapore office.  The candidate will have a proven track record building and managing a profitable sales book, building on an established network of business relationships within the Asia bunkering and shipping industry.

Key Responsibilites:

• Develop and implement marketing activities within Asia targeted at winning new customers and expanding existing customer relationships.
• Prospect for new customers, conducting direct research and analysis of markets and customers to identify opportunities.
• Develop effective marketing materials to promote service and value proposition to new and existing customers.
• Manage customer portfolio with direct responsibility for negotiating and executing sales transactions from start to finish-- from quoting, negotiating, confirming, delivery, and post-delivery service and support.
• Monitor customer utilization of company credit lines, payment performance, and assist with collections if necessary.
• Assist with development of junior staff and trainees.
• Closely follow the company’s group policies and procedures.

Key Competencies/Skill sets: 

• Strong quantitative skills.
• Resourceful, goal oriented with an ability to multi-task, with a sharp attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills and ease working in multi-cultural environments.
• Excellent English language communications skills (oral and written).
• Candidates with proficiency in Korean and other languages will have an advantage.

Education and Experience requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in a discipline complimentary with the demands of a global trading business
• Proven track record of profitable trading marine fuels
• An extensive business network of fuel buyers and suppliers based in Asia
• Deep knowledge of the oil market and marine fuel pricing strategies, and knowledge of the maritime shipping industry.
