21NOV2019 - NEWS - Volkswagen to be the first company to use low-emission LNG drive for overseas car freighters from January 2020

Two liquefied natural gas car freighters from Siem Car Carriers AS were launched in Xiamen, China.

From January 2020, Volkswagen Group Logistics will deploy both ships with 4,700 cars transport capacity each between Europe and North America
 
Less emissions: Carbon dioxide by up to 25%, nitrogen oxides by up to 30%, soot particles by up to 60% and sulphur oxides by up to 100%.

Volkswagen Group Logistics is the first company to use two car freighters powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) in overseas traffic. The two charter ships of Siem Car Carriers were launched last Friday in Xiamen, China.
