Poland - Crime Victims Day
Crime Victims Day (Dzień Ofiar Przestępstw) is a statutory holiday in Poland celebrated on February 22. It coincides with European Victims Day that has been celebrated annually since the late 1980s.
In 1988, the European Parliament declared February 22 as European Crime Victims Day. Two years later, the Cabinet of the United Kingdom adopted the Victims of Crime Charter, a legal document setting the rights and duties of victims of crime, such as the right to be treated with courtesy and respect, the right to information, the right to seek protection and compensation, the right to proper facilities at court, etc.
