South Sudan aims to increase oil output from the current 145,000 barrels a day (bpd) to about 200,000 by 2020. South Sudan resumed oil production in at least five of 16 wells in northern Unity region in January. The country depends on oil production to finance about 95 percent of its fiscal expenditure despite ongoing efforts to increase its share of the non-oil revenue.
