According to one of the representatives of the Panama Canal, the volume of liquified natural gas (LNG) passing through the canal may rise by around five times in 2020 compared to the volumes traversed last year. This rise in volumes will be supported by the growing demands of the natural gas along with the rise in production. Imports of liquified natural gas (LNG) by Asia region will rise due to 2020 sulphur cap by IMO.
