JOB DESCRIPTION
BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The position is overall responsible for supporting the Chartering team in :

• Liaising with the various functions within CNC / global / regional teams, Marseille headoffice and shipowners, shipbrokers to coordinate all postfixture operations functions of the chartered ships fleet
• Coordinate with Accounting team on all financial matters (eg hire payments, offhire claims, accounts finalization) of the chartered ships fleet

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To obtain all pre-delivery ship’s information for liaison with CNC team, eg timecharter description, certificates, plans / manuals, questionnaires
• To work with shipowners / shipbrokers for owners bank details and coordinate with Acccounting team in vendor setup for ship’s hire payments
• To work with CNC and global teams on surveyor for Onhire Survey for ship’s delivery and Offhire Survey for ship’s eventual redelivery
• To handle daily email / telephone communications between shipowners / shipbrokers, Marseille headoffice and CNC teams and vice versa
• To work with ship’s Captain, shipowners / shipbrokers and CNC / global teams on stevedore damages caused by the Terminal stevedores
• To work with Hazmat / global teams and shipowners / shipbrokers on loading of dangerous / hazardous cargoes
• To monitor ship’s stoppages and work with CNC / Accounting teams in offhire claims submission to shipowners / shipbrokers
• To work with CNC team near to ship’s charter expiry on extension or redelivery processes.
• To work with Bunker and Accounting teams in bunker supply quantities and withholding hire payments for provision of redelivery bunkers and shipowners expenses

JOB REQUIREMENTS
1) Education

• Tertiary Qualification in Maritime studies or equivalent

2) Experience :

• A minimum of 1-3 years experience in ship operations
• Basic knowledge of ship operation is preferred
• Knowledge of postfixture chartering operations is a definite advantage
• Knowledge of accounting is an advantage

3) Skills Set

• Good understanding of the English language in understanding and interpreting Charter Party terms
• Focused, committed and meticulous, with ability to work under pressure and managing huge volume of email messages
• Keen pursuit of continuous improvements
• Good verbal and written communications
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good stakeholder management and a team player
• Highly organized, attentive to details and process oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
