Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, asphalt, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day. Delek US Holdings owns 100 percent of the general partner and 81.6 percent of the limited partner interest in Alon USA Partners, LP (NYSE: ALDW), which owns a crude oil refinery in Big Spring, Texas, with a crude oil throughput capacity of 73,000 barrels per day and an integrated wholesale marketing business.
The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP. Delek US Holdings, Inc. and its affiliates also own approximately 63 percent (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP. Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE: DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.
The asphalt operations consist of owned or operated asphalt terminals serving markets from Tennessee to the west coast through a combination of non-blended asphalt purchased from third parties and produced at the Big Spring, Texas and El Dorado, Arkansas refineries. The renewables operations will consist of plants in Texas and Arkansas that produce biodiesel fuel and a renewable diesel facility in California.
The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores which also market motor fuels in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
Summary of Position
The successful candidate for the Crude Oil Trader position will be responsible for the Crude Oil Supply and Trading activities of Delek US Holdings, Inc. The supply aspect of this position will focus on supplying the Delek refining system with the most economical crude grades available. The Trading aspect of the role will focus on trading at market hubs including Cushing OK, Midland and Longview TX, and Gulf Coast markets. This position will also need to develop markets for crude in other areas strategic to Delek US as well as develop and execute a strategy for the storage of all company leas Source, develop and manage domestic and international supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted crude oil supply and related products
- Contribute new ideas to reduce costs and improve quality and delivery
- Facilitate new source development, qualification, and implementation, by proactively interacting with Clients, Refining, Transportation, etc.
- Develop risk management strategies to mitigate risk in all trading and supply activities
- Identify new business development initiatives in line with agreed company strategy
- Manage contract administration for crude oil as needed.
- Manage scheduling for crude oil as needed
- Support crude logistics to maximize value for Delek.
- Gather information and conduct investigation and implementation of opportunities for third party processing, storage, and blending
- Develop competitive market intelligence
- Maintain crude oil and related products sourcing database.
- Prepare and present monthly forecasts and purchase price variance analysis
- Monitor inventory levels and keep them aligned with corporate targets
- Work with Credit to maximize open line credit limits
- Optimize refinery crude slate to maximize value
Requirements- Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, or hold a valid work visa that does not require sponsorship in order to legally work full-time in the United States.
- Bachelor Degree (B.S. degree)
- 5+ years of Crude Oil industry experience preferred including commodity trading, refining, procurement, demand planning, and supply chain management
- Global commodity sourcing expertise with knowledge of demand / supply
- Knowledge of crude oil market, crude oil by-products, and sourcing alternatives
- Familiarity with condensates, natural gasolines, NGLS is a plus
- Ability to make decisions under pressure
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Prior interaction with trading teams
- Strong project management and analytical skills, paying close attention to detail
- A multi-tasker that possess proven time management abilities, and a capacity to work in a time sensitive environment with shifting priorities.
