26APR2019 - NEWS - Russia will introduce an excise duty on fuel oil and vacuum gasoil

Russia will introduce an excise duty on fuel oil and vacuum gasoil — which are currently tax free — in order to offset the impact on the budget of mulled amendments to the so-called tax dampening mechanism, according to a statement on the government website Wednesday. The duty will be refunded for those products that are used as bunker fuel, as well as for further processing and power generation, the statement said.
