26NOV2018 - NEWS - Optimarin secures contract from Fednav to provide seven Optimarin Ballast Systems

Optimarin has recently secured a contract to provide seven Optimarin Ballast Systems (OBS) for vessels operated by Fednav, a Canada-based ocean-going dry-bulk shipowner and chartering company. Of the seven units, five will be installed on existing vessels and the remaining two will be fitted on newbuilds, which include projects at Oshima shipyard in Japan. The deal is in addition to an order for five OBSs placed by Fednav last year. Earlier this year, Fednav’s Federal Kumano was retrofitted with an Optimarin OBS. Optimarin’s global engineering partner Goltens installed the unit on the Fednav vessel at MPG Dolphin Shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria.
