Taiwan - Teachers' Day
People of the Republic of China, also known as Taiwan, annually celebrate Teachers' Day on September 28. This holiday commemorates the birthday of Confucius, who is believed to be the model master educator in ancient China.
Teachers' Day was established in Taiwan in 1939, but it was celebrated on August 27. In 1952 Confucius' the date of birth was recalculated according to the Gregorian calendar and it fell on September 28, thus the holiday was moved.
