29NOV2017 - NEWS - An initiative taken to ease the availability of bunker fuel oil at Los Angeles

There is a tight availability of heavy bunker fuel in Los Angeles (LA) and Long Beach (LB) since past several weeks. This is predicted to ease by mid of December as three oil tankers are put on to load 50,000 ton each of residual fuel oil on Mexico's west coast and discharge in the US west coast.

As per the data from the port of Los Angeles, the sales of heavy bunker fuel and MGO at LA and LB has dropped by 4pc to 15.44mn bl in the first nine months of the year, compared with 16.17mn bl during the same period last year.
