Job Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Class and Flag State requirements and planning/supervising the required surveys. Ensuring that the certification of assigned vessels is maintained in accordance with the relevant Class and Flag State requirements.
- Co-ordinate with vessel, procurement and operations department on the supply of stores and spare parts. Technical Superintendent shall review all spare parts and engine store requisitions for accuracy and right quantity; monitoring the efficient and timely supply of all spares/stores required for the proper maintenance and safe operation of the vessels.
- Effective implementation of company’s preventive maintenance of the assigned vessels.
- Technical Inspection of the assigned vessels, monitoring their condition and preparing condition/attendance reports, including any comments on machinery, maintenance, crew performance, etc. Analyzing the results of assigned vessels’ inspections and following-up all reports of vessels’ condition and performance, issue maintenance instructions (job orders) following vessels’ inspections.
- Attending repairs and Dry Dockings: Preparing and formulating repair specifications, taking into account the requirements of Class Society, Owners’ and Company’s standards, PMS reports, deck, tank and machinery condition reports, defect reports, the Master’s and C/E’s reports and National, Port State and International legislation.
- Evaluating repair quotations, participate in selecting repair Companies (yard/contractors) and location of the repairs, based on the “best quality of works” / “cost” relation.
- Ensure proper inventory control and optimum stock level maintenance.
- Project management: Prepare and manage vessel’s project modification plan (SRs), budget (i.e. AFE) and schedule (Gantt chart) to ensure vessel’s usage/readiness plans are met.
- Analyze and trouble-shoot root cause of technical problems and major equipment breakdown. Provide technical support and guidance to vessels, to enable them to function efficiently.
- Any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- Preferably to have Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in handling offshore vessels OR
- Have at least 2 years of experience as a Ship Commissioning/Ship Repair Manager/Project Manager OR
- 2nd class engineer Certificate of Competency (Motor) with above 1 year experience in offshore vessel industry
- Good technical knowledge and experience for jack-up rigs or liftboats would be preferred.
- Familiar with the industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Ability to travel within short notice as required.
- Possess positive work attitude with efficiency, good inter-personal skills.
- Able to work in a team environment independently with minimum supervision.

offshore vessel handling: 3 years (Required)
