Treasury Day (Dzień Skarbowości) is an official professional holiday celebrated in Poland on July 31. It was observed for the first time in 2008 at the initiative of the Ministry of Finance and officially became a statutory holiday in 2010.
The history of Treasury Day is closely linked to the history of Poland, and the roots of the holiday can be traced back to 1918. That year, the Second Polish Republic, officially known as the Republic of Poland, was established in the aftermath of the First World War. The government of the Second Polish Republic led by Józef Piłsudski immediately began to implement political, economic and social reforms.
