Chile - Reformation Day
Reformation Day, also known as National Day of Evangelical and Protestant Churches (Día Nacional de las Iglesias Evangélicas y Protestantes) is a public holiday in Chile, typically celebrated on October 31. It is moved to the following Friday when October 31 falls on a Wednesday or to the preceding Friday when it falls on a Tuesday.
Reformation Day is a religious holiday celebrated by Protestants around the world on October 31. On this day in 1517, German theologian and monk Martin Luther nailed the Ninety-five Theses on the door of the All Saints’ Church in Wittenberg and sent a copy to the Archbishop of Mainz. This event started a schism in the Catholic Church known as the Reformation.
