Maersk Oil Trading Bunker Supply Planning is looking for an Application Manager for the Bunker Planning solution applied. We are applying an advanced Operational Research model BOPS (Bunker Optimization Bunker Planning System) to optimize the bunker pattern.

Maersk Oil Trading’s fuel and gas oil desks manage an annual flow of 12 million tons of bunkers with a turnover exceeding $6 billion from our trading offices across the world. We are the largest buyer in the bunker market, accounting for approximately 5% of the global volume. 

The position will allow the successful candidate to apply your knowledge about Operational Research, Project Management and advanced analytics in an operational setting. 

You will be part of a truly international organization constantly striving for improving the total costs for bunkering.

Key Responsibilities
As part of a small team, you will be involved in all aspects of developing and operating a complex bunker optimization system. 
• Analysis of data for the optimization of bunker costs (use R).
• Capability to access and manage the databases applied for bunker optimization (SQL).
• Coding of the solutions applied for the optimization (C++). 
• Project Management.
• System Development.
• Test of system updates.
• Operational support (2nd/3rd line).

Who we are looking for
For the right candidate it will be an advantage if you are having a good understanding / experience with linear programming. 

As a person you can structure a project to bring it from the first idea all way through to the final solution, including the analysis, definition, development and roll out in close co-operation with your colleagues and relevant stakeholders.

You have a background as developer, IT supporter, manager of IT vendors, analyst or Data science.

You have a master in either IT or natural sciences.
