Emissions (Mobile Sources)

The combustion of fuel, leads to the emission of exhaust gases that may be regarded as pollutants. Water and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) are not currently included in this category but Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Sulphur Oxides (SOX)and hydrocarbons are subject to legislative control. Gasoline engines emit all three; diesel engines also emit particulates that are controlled.
