National Day is a major public holiday in Oman that gives people an opportunity to celebrate Oman’s history and independence from Portugal.
The 47th National Day public holidays for all public and private sector will be observed on 3 and 4 December 2017.

Tonga - King Tupou I Day
King Tupou I Day is a Tongan public holiday celebrated on December 4 (actual observation date may vary from year to year). It was established to commemorate the anniversary of King Tupou I's coronation.
Siaosi (George) Tupou I was the first King of Tonga. He united separate chiefdoms into a single state, becoming the undisputed leader of the whole of Tonga, published the first written laws in the country, opened the first parliament, and promulgated the constitution. He also protected Tonga from colonization.
