Since last few years, the Singapores bunker fuel market has seen reducing number of bunker fuel suppliers. Recently Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore listed 55 accredited bunker suppliers that are licensed to carry out fuel deliveries within Singapore port limits. MPA is always monitering the suppliers involved in the malpractices and three suppliers have lost their licences this year. Introduction of mass flow meters has been a positive sign in the Singapores Bunker Market as it has provided transparency in the bunkering process.

Established on 2nd Feb 1996, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore is a statutory board under the Ministry of Transport of the Government of Singapore.
