Computer modelling produced by a team of scientists from the UK's National Oceanography Centre (NOC) using the wreck site location and data on prevailing currents nearby have shown that waters polluted by the MT Sanchi spill could reach Japan within a month. A statement from the group said their latest simulations found that pollution may now be travelling within the Kuroshio and Tsushima currents that run near the coasts of southwestern Japan.
