Azerbaijan - National Salvation Day
Heydar Aliyev rose to power in Azerbaijan on June 15, 1993. This important day is annually commemorated in Azerbaijan as National Salvation Day.
At the beginning of 1993 political situation in Azerbaijan was disastrous. Azerbaijani Popular Front failed to govern the country, which almost led to outbreak of a civil war in 1992. The first President of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Elchibey was elected on June 7, 1992, but he was overthrown by military coup under leadership of Colonel Surat Huseynov. The insurrection resulted in rise of power of the former Soviet leader of Azerbaijan Heyday Aliyev.

Denmark - Day of Valdemar and Reunion Day
Denmark annually celebrates Day of Valdemar and Reunion Day on June 15. This holiday commemorates two important events in the history of Denmark, that occurred on the same day but in different centuries.
Day of Valdemar was established in Denmark in 1912. This holiday celebrates the day, when the King of Denmark Valdemar II (he is often called Valdemar the Victorious) fought in the Battle of Lyndanisse against Estonia in 1219. According to the myth , after the victory in the battle the Dannebrog, Danish national flag, fell down from the sky. Nowadays Day of Valdemar is also known as Flag Day.
