Roles & Responsibilities

Bunker Operations

• Coordinate with selected Vessels / MOT before arrival in port to ensure readiness for Fuel Discharge thus minimizing any delays.
• Monitor Fuel Discharge setup both on the vessel and the Barge to ensure the operation will be safe, smooth, swift and pollution-free.
• Supervise Fuel Discharge Operations on vessels to ensure optimum Fuel Discharge so that there is no delay to port stay.
• Guide vessel staff on Fuel Discharge Documentation – Reverse BDN / ORB entries / Checklist etc.
• Render assistance to vessel’s crew as directed by the onboard Chief Engineer to help vessel avoid any Rest Hours violation.
• Continuously explore means and ways to improve on Fuel Discharge Operation times without compromising safety.
• Ensure Vessel feedback as well as learnings from each operation are captured, documented and shared with stakeholders to improve upon subsequent operations.
• Act as liaison between Shore-Ship and guide vessels on optimum use of the VesselBunker / BOPS /FPMS system through constructive dialogues and training, where required.
• Ensure all Maersk Line operated vessels have the adequate Bunkers including right Bunker grade to safely and timely reach next bunkering port
• Closely liaise with LOC operations to ensure a strong engagement to avoid schedule disruptions due to Bunker related delays.
• Participate in Bunker saving initiatives in close coordination with relevant stakeholders.

 
Maersk Oil Trading engagement

• Drive the operational engagement with MOT via standard regular meetings.
• Provide feedback for developments in current tools and systems towards automation Team
• Assist the GMC Bunker Operations 24/7 Desk manning as directed basis agreed shift plan to provide professional support to ML owned and charter fleet.

Operating System

• Embrace, drive and innovate Maersk Line Operating System within own team as well as GMC, Fleet Operations and Vessels.
• Apply continuous improvement methodology at GMC while reducing waste at the same time
• Engage with relevant departments for issue resolution as well as further developing modus operandi.
• Understand and develop the interface and engagement between GMC, LOC and MOT supporting an End-to-End focus.
• Support Bunker Operations Team Manager in delivering uninterrupted operations

Communication

• Ensure strong, engaging and visible communication towards all relevant stakeholders in Maersk Line Operations.
• Adhere with Maersk Line communications guidelines

Requirements

• Ensure that safety is first priority in all daily operations.
• Work to reduce any exceptions and ensure that lessons are learned and shared in the team through RCAs.
• Carry out work in conjunction and close co-ordination with relevant departments, organizations and ship-owner entities.
• Keep Management advised of developments within the area of responsibility.
• Make suggestions for improvements and savings in all matters within the area of responsibility.
