The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has recently awarded a grant of $3m to the Port of Hueneme to support the port’s ship-to-shore zero-emission energy project. The funding is part of a joint application submitted by the port and the Port of Los Angeles for California’s Zero and Near-Zero Emission Freight Facilities (ZANZEFF) grant. ZANZEFF is funded through the California’s Cap and Trade dollars initiative that will see the state invest billions of dollars to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as improve the economy, public health and environment.
