12DEC2018 - NEWS - The Panama Canal welcomed 5000th Neopanamax vessel through the waterway on Monday

On Monday, the Panama Canal welcomed its 5,000th Neopanamax vessel through the waterway, since opening its expanded locks in 2016. The milestone was achieved by 13,345 TEU COSCO Faith containership which transited southbound from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. COSCO Faith is part of Ocean Alliance’s Manhattan Bridge-AWE2 service, between Asia and the US East Coast.
