14JAN2019 - NEWS - Norway based shipping firm Klaveness takes delivery of first CLEANBU vessel from New Yangzi Shipyard of China

Norway based shipping firm Klaveness has recently taken delivery of MV Baru, a Panamax combination carrier newbuilding, from New Yangzi Shipyard in China. The 83,600 dwt ship is the first of six contracted CLEANBU vessels that will be delivered to Klaveness Combination Carriers over the next two years, up to October 2020. This next generation of combination carriers has an advanced vessel design, environmental performance, and operational and technical efficiency. The CLEANBUs have up to 40% lower CO2 emissions per ton mile transported cargo, and go a long way in meeting IMO’s 2050 targets of a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions from shipping.
