29JAN2019 - NEWS - Evergreen's containership Ever Summit smashed by a falling crane at the Port of Vancouver’s Global Container Terminal

Canadian investigators are on the scene looking into yet another crane collapse. Early Monday morning, the lifting boom of a crane fell onto the containership Ever Summit as the vessel came into dock at the Port of Vancouver’s Global Container Terminal (GCT). While no injuries occurred it is understood the ship was damaged in the accident. The crane fell on the containers to the aft of the accommodation block. The Transportation Safety Board has sent a team of investigators to the port.
