08MAR2019 - NEWS - Egypt plans to launch three international oil and gas exploration tenders during this year

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is planning to launch three international oil and gas exploration tenders in 2019. One of the bid rounds will be directed by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (Egas) for natural gas in the Mediterranean, while Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Co. (Ganope) will offer exploration in the Red Sea. The Red Sea is considered promising as there have been no exploration activities since the maritime border was agreed to with Saudi Arabia in 2017. Another round will be offered by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. (Egpc) in the Western and Eastern Deserts and the Gulf of Suez.
