12APR2019 - JOB - Offshore IT Technician - Monjasa
Job description
As our new Offshore IT Technician, you will join a team of currently five IT professionals, who together perform all IT related tasks for the Monjasa Group. Your primary focus will be to support and maintain all hardware and software on board own tanker vessels, and for this reason, you will experience a varied day and at times face some rough waters.
Since you will be the center of Monjasa’s offshore IT, it is important that you are able to work independently and have a sense of urgency in regards to how and when problems should be solved. Furthermore, you should enjoy supporting other people with an open and can-do attitude.
You can expect to have approx. three weeks of travel activity per year to provide IT assistance offshore.
Areas of focus
- Make various port calls (planned) and critical repairs (unplanned) relating to both daily support and infrastructure maintenance
- Purchase of end user items
- Infrastructure (purchasing, budget planning, coordinate projects etc.)
- Create and follow maintenance schedules for all vessels (VSAT, network etc.)
- Setup new vessels (coordinate with Offshore Division, pre-purchase survey of vessels etc.)
- Maintain and ensure documentation of preparation, processes, project plans etc.
Your professional skills
- Relevant IT education
- Min. 3 years of experience from a similar position, most likely from the offshore sector
- Support foundation is an advantage:
- Microsoft AD
- Exchange 365
- WIN 7, 8 and 10
- Knowledge of Offshore communications (VSAT, Fleet etc.)
- Teltonika, Nimbus
- Amos, GL ship
- Network (LAN, WAN, Optimization)
- Advanced knowledge of offshore hardware installations
- Fluent in verbal and written English. Danish and Russian is an advantage
