Job description
We need a talented and ambitious ship operator for our Time Charter fleet division. We offer opportunities to develop both your maritime expertise and professional skills, working for a global employer.
LITASCO have several offices around the globe and in Rotterdam you will be next to Demurrage Desk and ARA Bunker Desk. You will co-operate with Chartering departments and Cargo Operators in Geneva, Singapore, Dubai, New York and Houston, on a daily basis in order to ensure a safe transport of oil products.
What´s the role?
Within a two people team, as a Ship Operator, your prime responsibility will be to act as a link between Chartering department, Cargo Operation department, external clients and the vessels, reporting to the Ship Operations Managers. In order to deliver the best results we have continuous contact with customers, vessels, vessel-owners port agents, brokers, vetting departments and technical operators. Major part of the work in the Ship Operations department is to see possibilities to optimise voyages, voyage-related costs and to plan bunkering of the vessels.
More specific duties include:
· During delivery of Time Charter vessels, make sure that brokers, owners and vessel are updated on our Standing orders and that you are regularly in a direct contact with the vessels master.
· Plan and procure bunkers, depending on geographical area and trading pattern of the vessel.
· Assist Chartering department in pre-fixing, for example, arrange intake and stow plan from the vessel, arrange filling in and signing of the forms, participate in review of contractual Charter Party clauses.
· Keep our internal business program SoftMar updated in order for Chartering department to have correct information for voyage estimation and for efficient cost control.
· Create and send Freight invoices and follow up on payment collections.
· Check and arrange for Hire payments, including off-hire control, to vessel owners.
· Assist Demurrage, Claims and Accounting department(s) in post-fixture related matters and keep related system updated.

Requirements

We expect you to have a Master Mariners education (BsC. Nautical Science) or higher University degree and that you have sailed on tankers, worked ashore at ship-owners office, or agency.
