21MAY2019 - NEWS - Crude tanker rates poised to strengthen

Shipbroker BRS Group cites new refineries starting in Asia as well as an increase in global production of middle distillates for the ‘cautiously optimistic’ estimate. Crude throughput at refineries is expected to lift by an additional 1m barrels per day as middle distillates production increases to meet the IMO 2020 requirements for lower sulphur ship fuels.
