Job Role Summary
The Marine Technical Analyst is responsible for the evaluating and studying fuel consumption for offshore marine vessels. The analyst is responsible for the modeling of offshore marine vessels and summarizing the consumption performance. The analyst will use computational tools and remote monitoring technologies to identify consumption trends and explore fuel efficiency opportunities.
Job Role Responsibilities
During the fuel stewardship cycle, Marine Technical Analysts conduct technical studies to assess the integrity of fuel management barriers, including:
Monitor real-time data and provide insights and recommendations based on analysis
Analyze consumption data to identify data quality issues, establish trends, and develop recommendations to respond to deviations
Generate plots and reports to communicate vessel performance
Identify opportunities for improved fuel efficiency and upgrades to existing tools/applications
Collaborate with engineers and operations personnel on global asset teams
Attend virtual meetings in the supported asset’s time zone
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Marine or Mechanical preferred) with 0-6 years of work experience the in oil and gas industry
Demonstrated work experience in maritime or offshore operations
Proficient in naval engineering principles and engineering modeling techniques
Able to gather, analyze, compare, and present data via data analytic and visualization tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau
Ability to present clear, concise recommendations based on technical studies to Production/Operating Unit and Senior Management
Ability to formulate conclusions and recommendations with incomplete information
Demonstrated work experience with operations research or logistics modeling
Good command of English both written and spoken
Able and willing to travel internationally
Able to work well with others in a fast-changing environment
